Doddle for Google !

Sketch (Day 1)
Day 2

Day 3

Day 4
Day 5

(FINAL)

In this assignment, I used my previous knowledge in order to create a "Doodle for Google" project using Adobe Illustrator CS3. I was expected to create a design using the Google logo for the "Doodle for Google" competition. My final product included a boom box, man with high top fade, breakdancer, walkman, "Flava Flav" clock and a backwards hat. Also, the background was a pattern that represented the clothes that were worn in the 90's. The elements of art I used were color and space. I mainly used "LOUD"colors, such as red, yellow, green, orange, pink and a neon blue. I used space in order to make sure that all of the "representation" (letters, pictures, etc.) didn't have negative space within and around it. Throughout the project, I tried to effectively use balance with the background and the representation of letters by making sure the colors worked well with each other. My project does not effectively represent my sketch because as I started my project, I began to change a few things (such as my background) when my sketch didn't come out as planned.

mySELF

Day 2

Day 3

Day 4

FINAL DAY

(Modified Version)

In this assignment, I used my previous knowledge in order to create a "mySELF" project using Adobe Illustrator CS3. I was expected to create an illustration of myself including the things that I love and/or like inside my face, neck, etc. My final product included the earth and a bike wheel for my eyes, a paddle ball and crutch for my eyebrows, pencils and weights for my mouth, a tulip for my nose, a book for my ear, headphones for my earrings, a volleyball for my hair, a cross for my neck, cheetah spots for my face, and a hat to top it all off ! The elements of art I used were color, and space. I repeatedly used the colors blue and green because these colors describe me, a calm loving person. In the project I use blue for the headphones and eyes, and green for my eyes and eye shadow. I used space in order to make sure the features were balanced (principle of design) and proportioned, such as my eyes and the lines for the volleyball in my hair. These principles of design and elements of art helped me to make sure I was consistent throughout my project. This project effectively represent my sketch because I went through the steps while doing my project exactly how I sketched them out.

myProduct (OVERVIEW)

Day 1

Day 2

Day 3

In this assignment, I used my previous knowledge in order to create a product overview using Adobe Illustrator CS3. I was expected to create a product sheet for my invention or "myPRODUCT" project that thoroughly explain the invention. My final product included a black and blue border. Inside the borders, I included the picture/design of my invention, the price, dimensions (thickness, length, width, weight, etc.), comparisons to other longboards, and the "eco friendly" statement. The elements of art I used were color, and space. I used the colors blue, black, and grey to remain consistent with the invention colors. I used space in order to make sure the product sheet wasn't "cluttered" but organized. The principles of design I used were balance, and proportion. These principles of design helped me to make sure I was consistent throughout my project. I used proportion make sure my information "placing" was balanced. This project did not effectively represent my sketch because I didn't create a sketch for this particular project.

myProduct

Day 1
Day 2
Day 3

Day 4

Day 5
In this assignment, I used the revolve and the extrude & bevel tool in Adobe Illustrator CS3 in order to meet the expectation of creating an invention idea. My final product was a "foldable long-board" (skateboard). The "foldable long-board" invention is able to be carried in backpackets, purses, etc. My product included the body of the board, 4 wheels, teleoscopic poles, and foldable parts. The design created on the board represents my company's logo. The elements of art I used were shape, color, and space. The "foldable long-board", is shaped like an oval, therefore I created the body of the long-board in an oval structure. I used the colors blue, black, and grey because these colors are my favorite colors and decided to use them to represent my companies invention. I used space in order separate the different pieces of the wheel and pole attachments. Such as measuring the distance for how far the poles should be from the end of the skateboard. The principles of design I used were balance, unity, and proportion. These principles of design helped me to make sure I was consistent throughout my project. Balance helped me to make sure my measurements were proportion. Unity helped me to make sure that my colors, angles, and shapes work well together. My sketch effectively represents my project because when I began to create "myPRODUCT" I went along with everything I previously prepared to make in my sketch.

Ipod

FINAL

Day 2

Day 1

In this assignment, I used Adobe Illustrator CS3 in order to create a 3-dimensional ipod with a case or "skin" design. I was expected to use my previous projects knowledge where I experimented with the map art tool to create my ipod skin. My final product was an ipod touch with a music based theme. I had a boom box with the sound waves beaming out of the boom box. Then I constantly used repetition where I added the phrase "Feel the Music" to the skin. ]The elements of art I used were shape, color, and space. In order to create the ipod, I had to use shape to make the structure of the ipod and the boom box inside the map art of the skin. I used color to make sure the colors in my map art worked well with the dominant color in my case (black). I used space in order separate the different pieces that were used for map art such as the pause/play button, menu button, etc.The principles of design I used were balance, unity, and proportion. I used these principles of design to make sure my project was consistent, together, and angled correctly from other perspectives. My sketch effectively represents my project because when I began to create "iPOD" I went along with everything I previously prepared to make in my sketch.

mySpace

Day 1

Day 2

Day 3

Day 4 (FINAL)

In this assignment, I used Adobe Illustrator CS3 in order to create a 3-dimensional room. I was expected to use my previous project "myLAMP" to create an office, bed, etc room. My final product was an old school reading room. It included a comfy, cushioned, burgundy chair; also a burgundy foot rest, wooden dresser, two unique rock lamps, sectioned glass windows, burgundy curtains, green walls and a fireplace. The elements of art I used were shape, color, and space. In order to create the room, I had to use shape to make the furniture in the room. I used color to make sure my colors didn't clash with each other. For an example, my furniture is burgundy but my walls are a dirty green. I used the color wheel to make sure those colors compliment each other. I used space in order separate the different pieces of furniture in the room and made sure there wasn't any negative space. The principles of design I used were balance, unity, and proportion. I used these principles of design to make sure my project was consistent, together, and angled correctly from other perspectives. My sketch effectively represents my project because when I began to create "mySPACE" I went along with everything I previously prepared to make in my sketch.
