Day 3 (FINAL)
In this assignment, I used Adobe Illustrator CS3 in order to create an icon that represents the emotion "surprise". I was expected to think outside the box to be able to have my audience recognize my emotion but, not make it obvious. My final product was a "Jack in the Box". It has a blue background, with a red cubed box and confetti blowing out of it. The Jack in the Box has a joyous look on its face with its arms spreaded out wide. The elements of art I used were shape and color.I used shape in order to create the shapes that were put into the icon with the pen tool. I used color such as green, red, blue, yellow, green, purple, pink, and black to make the jack in the box colorful. I chose these colors because they are exciting colors. The principles of design I used were balance and unity. I used balance in order to make sure my colors and shapes were working together to create the image of the Jack in the Box jumping out . I used unity in order to make sure my projects colors didn't clash with each other and that the overall parts of the project worked together. My sketch doesn't effectively represent my project because as I begin to create the icon in Adobe Illustrator, I found that I had to make changes to my sketch in order for the project to be consistent.
