Tessellation

Day 4 (FINAL)
In this assignment, I used Adobe Illustrator CS3 in order to create my tessellation project. I was expected to make a creative tessellation design and effectively use the rotate and reflect tool in Adobe Illustartor CS3. My final product reminds myself of the holidays because of the color scheme I use with the colors red, green, yellow, and blue usually is associated or represents a holiday. The elements of art I used were shape, line, and color. I used shape by using the polygon tool to create the hexagon and to create the design of the double helix structure.I used line in order to create all the individual lines with the line segment tool to seperate the colors from each other. I used color such as red, blue, yellow, green, gray, black, and purple in order to create an illusion. The principles of design I used were balance and proportion. I used balance in order to make sure my color scheme and design was stable. I used proportion in order to make sure my angles were equal to each other, my dimensions in the triangle and hexagon were correct and the angle of how I rotated and reflected my kite was equal to each other. My sketch effectively represented my project because I specifically outlined my sketch using the pen tool.
